The contrast banding runs across the chest and down the sleeve, giving a plain jumper a bit of shape without shouting about it. It is knitted in a cotton blend with a little stretch, so it gives at the elbow and settles back. The fit is regular through the chest and waist, with room to sit a collared shirt underneath. Sizes run S to 2XL and come up true to size.

Contrast Banding That Carries the Whole Piece The stripe sits high on the body, which draws the eye up and keeps the line clean. It does the work a pattern usually needs a louder colour to do.

Regular Cut That Layers Without Bulk Cut straight through the body rather than close, so a shirt collar and cuff sit flat underneath. Worn alone, it still holds its shape by the end of the day.

Ribbed Cuffs and Hem That Stay Put The rib grips lightly at the wrist and waist, so the sleeves stay where you push them and the hem does not ride up when you reach.

Cotton Knit With a Small Amount of Give Knitted from 95% cotton with 5% spandex, it is breathable against the skin and recovers after wear rather than bagging at the seat of the elbow. The gauge is mid-weight, closer in handle to gents v neck jumpers than to a heavy winter cable, so it works indoors as well as under a coat.

Wear it over an oxford shirt with dark denim, or on its own with flat-front chinos and leather boots.
