A double-breasted coat cut close through the shoulder and chest, then eased gently to a mid-thigh hem. The wool-cotton cloth carries enough body to stand up to wind without feeling stiff across the back. Peak lapels hold their roll rather than collapsing after a few wears. It runs true to size with room for a jacket beneath, so take your usual size unless you layer knitwear underneath, in which case size up.

Belted Waist That Defines the Line The self-fabric belt draws the coat in at the waist and keeps a long vertical line down the front. Tied or buckled, it stays where you set it through a day on your feet.

Double-Breasted Front That Blocks the Wind The wide placket overlaps fully across the chest, so cold air has nowhere to get in at the button line. Fastened to the throat, the collar stands and stays standing.

Mid-Thigh Length That Works Beyond the Office The hem falls low enough to cover a suit jacket cleanly and short enough to walk in. It reads as correct over tailoring on a weekday and over a jumper at the weekend.

Wool-Blend Cloth With Weight and Recovery A 50% wool, 50% cotton blend, woven dense with very little stretch, so the coat holds shape rather than clinging. Seams are pressed flat and the front is set on a wide-set button placket with a storm flap behind it.

Wear it over a fine-gauge roll neck with dark trousers and a leather boot.
