The suede has a close, even nap that takes a brush well and softens rather than creases as you wear it. The shaft finishes just above the ankle, so the boot sits clean under a trouser break and stays visible with a turned-up jean. Elastic side panels let the boot pull on in one motion and then hold the foot without slack. A pull tab at the heel keeps mornings short.

Low Ankle Shaft That Lengthens the Leg The cut stops just above the ankle bone, so the line from trouser to shoe reads unbroken. It flatters a slim trouser as readily as it does a straight-leg jean.

Elastic Gores That Keep the Fit Steady The twin panels stretch at entry and return, so the heel stays seated through a day on foot. Unlike laced chukka boots or desert boots, there is nothing to retie halfway through.

A Sole Built for Pavement The grooved rubber outsole grips on wet stone and takes the jar out of hard flooring.

Cow Suede With a Clean, Stitched Build The upper is 100% cow suede, soft-handed with a short nap and very little give, closed with neat topstitching along the throat and heel seam. The lining runs smooth underfoot so the boot settles quickly to the shape of the foot.

Wear them with dark denim and a crew-neck knit, or with flannel trousers and an overcoat for something more considered.
